We have cast Thomas Cunningham to play one of the male protagonists in our film. Thomas is an experienced drama student and has previous acting experience, working on 2013 student film The Case in one of the lead roles. He fits the role of a teenage victim perfectly and will hopefully add a lot of realism to our film.
We have also cast Chloe Young in the female protagonist role. It was important to us to cast someone who the audience could sympathise with and want to see survive the film, rather than another character who is simply there to add to the blood and gore quota. We feel that Chloe can achieve this effect on our audience and it also helps that she has previous experience with acting and helping to produce a short film with other media students from previous years.
Another casting decision we've made is for the murderer in our film. Alex Morgan, another member of our media group, will act out the role. We thought it important to cast a male actor as our antagonist as this conforms to the stereotype of the horror genre of men creating more of a threat than women. Alex has previous acting experience in the same student film as Thomas Cunningham, The Case.
